Hijack has been massively into 91-93 hardcore since the age of 12 since his older sister got him recording tapes from the pirates so she could listen to them when she got back from the legendary raves from back in the day. Far too young to make it to the raves himself he’s spent the last 10 years searching and building a modest but carefully selected collection.
He’s hosts a regular 4-6 Sunday show on http://www.originuk.net/ which has been going for over 5 years with the sole intention of giving lesser played and rarer tunes the airplay he feels the massively lack. It’s from this show and the shared interest in those tunes that he met the Distant Planet crew and was delighted with the opportunity to play for them in 2013.
The bookings grew substantially in 2013 with gigs for Cool Breeze Radio in Norfolk, representing Origin UK at Promised Land, Jungle Splash and Dread Recordings and his personal biggest achievement to date playing at Riverdance alongside Jedi, March Archer, Jerome Hill and DJ Storm. 2014 saw him play his first international parties for Launch in Belgium and Barcelona. Upcoming gigs include Distant Planet in October (thanks guys) and the Greene Man Fayre in Norfolk to bring the festival season to an end for 2014 and hopes for bookings to continue to grow in the years to come.
